Wish People has extended its education-support initiative to a second school in Piliyandala, donating 44 pairs of shoes, 44 school bags and 44 sets of 11 books to Dharmaraja Maha Vidyalaya.

Wish People has extended its education-support initiative to a second school in Piliyandala, providing shoes, school bags and books for the benefit of children at Dharmaraja Maha Vidyalaya. An official acknowledgement issued by the school on 12 October 2026 confirms that the donation was sent by Wish People in Australia through Wish People Foundation Sri Lanka.

Essential School Supplies for 44 Children

According to the school’s official acknowledgement, the donation consisted of:

• 44 pairs of school shoes
• 44 school bags
• 44 sets containing 11 books each

This represents a total of 484 books, based on the quantity recorded as “44 × 11 books” in the acknowledgement.

The school confirmed that the donated items would be used for the benefit of its children and expressed sincere appreciation for the organisation’s support and kindness.

School Supported Through the Initiative

Dharmaraja Maha Vidyalaya is the second school confirmed as receiving assistance through this Wish People education initiative.

The programme previously supported students of Dharmasena Attygalle Balika Vidyalaya in Kesbewa-Piliyandala with 68 school bags and 750 CR 160-page exercise books.

Across the two confirmed school donations, Wish People has provided:

• 112 school bags
• 44 pairs of school shoes
• 750 CR 160-page exercise books
• 484 additional books supplied as 44 sets of 11

Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom

The latest donation addresses several practical requirements faced by schoolchildren.

The two verified initiatives have supplied different combinations of practical materials based on the donations recorded by each school.

At Dharmaraja Maha Vidyalaya, the combination of shoes, bags and books provides children with resources that can be used in their everyday education.

Wish People’s growing school-support initiative also demonstrates how Sri Lankan organisations operating internationally can connect diaspora communities with practical needs in Sri Lanka.
