Talalla Retreat
Talalla Retreat is a peaceful place on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. They offer special yoga retreats designed to help people deepen their yoga practice, meditate daily, and learn more about yoga both on and off the mat. Laurie Rose founded Talalla Retreat and it has strong ties with the local community, especially after helping to rebuild Talalla village following the 2004 tsunami. They continue to support the village through the Talalla Support Group.
The retreat offers different types of yoga retreats for all levels, where guests can do yoga every day, meditate, and join workshops. Staying there is easy to arrange: just visit their website and follow the instructions under the Yoga, Wellness, or Surf sections. To book, you’ll need to pay a 20% deposit using a credit card, and you can check availability by clicking “BOOK NOW” and choosing your dates.
Accommodation at Talalla Retreat includes Sea-View Villas with traditional Sri Lankan decorations. These villas are on the ground floor, have air conditioning, and are very close to Talalla Beach. They also have open-air bathrooms with natural light and views of coconut palms. For those who love surfing, Talalla Retreat offers a week-long surf camp from Sunday to Saturday. It includes coaching sessions in the water, transport to surfing spots, rental of surfboards and gear, and video reviews to help improve your surfing skills.
