Jay Sea Foods Processing (Pvt) Ltd. is one of the leading seafood exporters in Sri Lanka and its success is due in large measure to its Founding and Managing Director, Mr. S.H.Jayasena, who pioneered the export of Tuna Loins to the European Market. He began his professional career as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer, becoming the Chief Engineer of the State Fisheries Corporation and then Chief Engineer of Sri Lanka’s State Engineering Corporation. In 1977 he accepted an offer to become Chief Engineer of a Company based in West Africa where he developed his deep interest in all aspects of commercial fishing and returned to Sri Lanka to set up his own Company.
